Tuscan Weekend Home

The project blends modern comfort with the quiet, rustic warmth of a Tuscan country house. Natural textures, hand-finished surfaces, and muted earth tones shape a calm and grounded atmosphere.

The result is a relaxed and earthy home; a contemporary interpretation of Tuscan rural living, thoughtfully reimagined within an urban context.

Project Insights

Spatial Logic & Flow

The plan is shaped around a clear central circulation, anchored by an indoor garden at its heart. Living, dining, and kitchen spaces are positioned along this spine, coming together as a continuous social area. Movement through the house feels natural and intuitive, with spatial flow defined by openness, alignment, and visual continuity.

Connection to Garden & Daylight

Interior spaces open directly toward the garden terrace, strengthening the everyday relationship between indoors and outdoors. Large sliding openings connect the living areas to the garden and pool terrace, allowing daylight to enter the house gently and naturally. As the light moves throughout the day, it maintains a constant visual and spatial connection to the garden.

Bespoke Elements

A sculptural suspended fireplace defines the living area, introducing a quiet yet distinctive architectural presence. Designed as a focal element rather than a visual distraction, it contributes to the overall sense of balance and calm within the space. Custom-designed elements throughout the interior support this restrained approach, integrating function seamlessly into the architecture.

Materials & Mood

Timber beams, curved edges, and textured plaster walls emphasize simplicity and craftsmanship. A restrained material palette and tactile surfaces create a calm, timeless atmosphere throughout the house.

Client Intent

The client specifically wished to avoid a conventional wall-integrated TV solution. In response, the television was placed on a custom-designed linear track recessed into the floor, allowing it to move smoothly between the living and dining areas. This concealed system offers flexibility when needed, while preserving the visual clarity and spatial calm of the interior.
